When you’re like a 10-12 depending on the shoe/brand, you grow up hating having to buy shoes and you feel like the world’s worst drag queen in anything remotely girly. So reading this made me feel better. Kate Winslet, Audrey Hepburn and other fabulous ladies, minus the herpe that is Paris Hilton…

I was ready to buy these from Torrid…then they didn’t have my size. The world hates girls with big feet, even the fat girl site doesn’t want me to have warm shoes.
today i needed shoes for an interview…no big deal, right?
i wear a 10, most of the time 11 (when it comes to girly shoes) and the selection is minimal. unless you want to look like a contestant on rupauls drag race of course…And when you were taunted in elementary for the size of your feet, the last place you want to find yourself if in the women’s shoe department.
after picking 3 pairs that would go with my dress. the guy came back with one, and of course the least favorite. that pair barely fit. so i thought, let me get some boots, combat style. 2 pairs my size and one wouldn’t go on, the other could be squeezed on.
i left with two pairs that barely fit. two pairs that will be returned because i can’t walk in them more than five minutes. and they make me uncomfortable.
moral of the story, it’s not easy to just find a pair of nice “feminine” shoes when your size isn’t a “cute” one.
…being an adult tomboy is rough…
